protecting our stags leap home
Our founders worked in tandem with architect Juan Carlos Fernandez to design Odette from the ground up with a focus on gaining Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification (LEED), in order to support Odette's ongoing land stewardship and sustainability goals. From sustainable site development and materials usage to energy efficiency and water management practices, Odette is proud to be a LEED Gold-Certified winery and to continue advancing efforts for company-wide environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Odette's LEED Gold Initiatives Include:
- Office, laboratory, and employee spaces built from recycled shipping containers.
- Concrete made from 30% recovered fly ash.
- Perforated aluminum panels to provide natural climate control inside the winery.
- 2,500 square feet of solar panels to generate renewable electricity.
- Naturally temperature-controlled caves and winemaking space.
- Thermoregulated fermentation tanks to ensure precise fermentations and climate control
- Structural polycarbonate paneling to reduce the need for internal electric lighting.
- A rainwater-fueled irrigation system.
- Electric vehicle charging stations.
