2012 Odette Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
95-98 Points

Composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts a blockbuster, complex, prodigious bouquet of incense, black currants, cherries, flowers and barrique. Full-bodied and powerful with an opaque purple color, perfect fruit purity, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a nearly endless finish, this is a magnificent young wine.  These are the debut releases from Odette Estate Winery, one of the new vineyards being showcased under the Plumpjack umbrella. Based in Stags Leap, they have produced two cuvees. Bravo on these opening releases from Odette!

2012 Odette Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
94-96 Points

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc. This beautiful wine admirably captures the essence of the Stags Leap in its elegance and finesse. It possesses stunning richness along with abundant, concentrated raspberry, black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with incense, licorice and a touch of Christmas fruitcake. Full-bodied yet ethereal, well-balanced, textured and impressively endowed, it will provide enjoyment over the next 15-20 years.”

2012 Odette Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
93-95 Points

“Odette’s 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a bit more typical of Stags Leap in its dark black fruit, iron, smoke, new leather and licorice. Firm yet virtually seamless tannins support the fruit in a big, broad-shouldered wine. The 2012 boasts impressive density. It will be interesting to see if the wine develops more Stags Leap finesse or remains a bit burly, as it is today. Regardless, this is an impressive showing from Odette and winemaker Jeff Owens. The potential here is tremendous. The Reserve emerges from the estate’s oldest vines, which are also some of the oldest in Stags’ Leap. The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.”

2012 Odette Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
92-94 Points

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate boasts gorgeous depth, richness and silkiness. A big, layered Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2012 wraps around the palate with gorgeous depth and fabulous overall balance. Dark red berries, sweet spices, leather and licorice all flesh out in a voluptuous, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with marvelous personality and class. The 2012 is distinctly floral, spiced and red-toned in its fruit, much of which is more typical of the Cabernet Franc, with less of the blue/black fruit typical of Stags’ Leap. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc.”
